PROJECT DESCRIPTION
“Pink Place” is an immersive, color field installation where a sequence of set designs in countless shades of pink and red greet visitors at Saint Arnolds Christmas Market 2024. Sets designs mimicked domestic, historical shotgun house rooms creating a domestic setting for display of images and narrative stories regarding five accomplished and celebrated Northside women. They were being honored for their community contributions and inspiration they are for Northside generations today. The “Pink Place” event included a geometric sculpture with community painted botanical medallions, live music by two bands, free ornament craftmaking by Art in the Heart bus and a Pink Christmas selfie photo backdrop.
Sculpture and Workshops
Art Uniti artist team creating a 10-foot-tall geometric sculpture titled “Blooming Tree” (Arboles En Flor). Two Fall free craft painting workshops of botanical medallions occurred at Art in the Heart Trick or Treat event and at Northside’s Jensen Jubilee. The public was invited to creatively paint wooden botanical medallions which the artist team added to the complete Art Uniti “Blooming Tree” sculpture. Tami Moschioni partnered with Jennifer Claussen to design the room sets and paint the sculpture. Wood craftsman Bob Alexander was instrumental in sculpture assemblage and transporting the project.
